Grantor Networks

Grantor networks are organized affiliations of like-minded donors (foundations, corporations and major individual) that come together in a regular way in order to examine important issues related to specific issues (e.g., the environment and civic participation) and specific geographic places (e.g., Illinois and Maine). The Council on Foundations recognizes 41 formal donor networks in the United States and The Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers recognizes 34. Each donor network clusters dozens and sometimes literally hundreds of major donors concerned about particular areas.

Donor network staff and board help grantmaker members effectively coordinate their philanthropy by hosting all-donor meetings and events (e.g., webinars and telebriefings) where the work of cutting-edge non-profits is regularly featured.
